ANNOUNCEMENT: Travels To Ukraine & A Break From Writing

Wow, I am bad at making commitments…

Hi everyone,

You’ve probably noticed that for the past month, my blog has been completely inactive. This is the first chance I’ve had to write an update in some time, and although I started writing several over the course of the last few weeks, I never felt ready to put pen to paper again so I put off making an announcement until I knew I was ready.

First of all, I’d like to apologise for what has been an extremely busy period in my life. With starting a new role, settling into life as a university graduate and spending time with friends, family and loved ones, the time has very quickly slipped away form me. Secondly, I’d like to offer an explanation about what’s happening next:
THE BLOG WILL STILL BE ACTIVE!
To those of you that worried that the blog might have joined the graveyard of other abandoned blogs and projects (a few of mine are buried there), never fear. I’m still around, and I still want to carry on as a blogger.

I needed some time to reconsider what made the blog work and why I wanted to start blogging in the first place. I was thinking up ridiculous ideas without actually writing one damn thing. So I decided to do one thing: just to travel, and not to worry about blogs or travels guides or making a diary. I travelled because it was brilliant, and spent some much-needed time with family without distractions. Now I’ve had that break, I’m fresh and ready to write again. Most importantly, I remembered one important thing about blogging:

WRITE WHAT YOU WOULD WANT TO READ!

So that’s exactly what I’m going to be doing.

TRAVELS IN UKRAINE & UPCOMING POSTS...

I travelled to Ukraine!

Thanks to a family wedding, I had the unique and incredible opportunity to travel into eastern Europe with my girlfriend and family. Odessa is one of the main travel destinations in Ukraine, outside of the capital Kiev, and sits on the coast of the Black Sea. For three days we sampled Ukrainian life, including a trip to the Opera, a walk down the Potemkin Steps and our first ever Russian Orthodox wedding.

It was a trip quite unlike anything I’ve experienced before, and I look forward to sharing it with you in

TRAVEL GUIDES: Odessa, Ukraine

I hope to announce more posts soon, with plans for a travel guide for Whitby, UK, but since I seem to have a problem with commitment to my blog, I don’t want to plan too far ahead. Updates, when they happen, will be on the Ross M F Firth Blog Facebook Page, so be sure to like and follow.

Thank you for your continued support in reading, liking and sharing my work. It means a great deal to me.

Until next time,

~ Ross M. F. Firth
